Wilderness First Aid on Vancouver Island

We have a perfect venue to offer Wilderness First Aid Courses: Open space, inside and out, we are on the water and we love camp fires. We know the hassle and expense of attending Wilderness First Aid courses, so we teamed up with Dave at Ridge Wilderness Adventures to offer awesome WFA training and the whole course stays in one place. Of course, we are only 5 minutes from bakeries in Cowichan Bay or pubs in Duncan..so it is the best of both worlds!

On site camping is available and included. You will have full access to showers and the kitchen. We'll even pick you up at the ferry or the Airport.

Pricing for 40 hours of WFA start at $495 per person and includes: books, resources, camping or custom accommodation, shuttles and some seriously real scenarios...we'll keep you into the night for some real..and we mean real-time scenarios. When each day is done, you can hop in the outdoor sauna, crawl into your sleeping bag and have sweet dreams of your next wilderness first aid adventure.

Why Wilderness First Aid?

I first discovered Wilderness First Aid training when I started my canoe guiding business: Gumboot Guiding Canoe Tours. I enrolled and completed an AWFA course and I fell in love with Wilderness First Aid: the fun, adventure and learning were amazing; the confidence it gave me was totally awesome. Most importantly, it helped me realize just how difficult things can be when there is no 911 to call. AWFA teaches more than first aid: it helps prepare people to plan trips and manage risks to avoid the incidents in the first place.

An intensive, well taught 40 hour Advanced Wilderness First Aid is totally adequate to satisfy most employers, insurers and clients. Like everything: it really depends on the people.
