Cowichan Bay Activities & Area

     We understand active, healthy people that have a sense of adventure and curiosity. 

    Paddle into our property with your kayak or ride your bicycle down our driveway and enjoy private rooms and ensuites.   We are a great base camp to explore Cowichan Bay, Genoa Bay, Maple Bay, Sansum Narrows and the gulf Islands.  

      One of our goals is to make sure that guests are never bored while staying at Affinity Guesthouse.   Of course, even active people need a rest; if you are not playing on our property, we hope you will be curled up in a sunbeam with a book. 

Places to eat! 

I hope I never need to choose a favourite between Bistro 161, Genoa Bay Cafe or Cafe Amuse .  These are our favourite places to eat in the area.

Cowichan Bay Paddle Sports: s Kayak and Canoe rentals and guided trips..including voyageur canoe trips for 4 to 18 people in 26 ft long voyageur canoes in Cowichan Bay and beyond. 

Whale Watching all year in Cowichan Bay with Simon at Ocean Ecoventures.  A premier activity when on Vancouver Island.  Simon is adding an espresso bar and bakery to his store front in Cowichan Bay.  I have been a cookie taste tester and I can assure you the cafe will be worth visiting!  Cafe opened in April, 2008 and is doing great! I recommend the triple chocolate cookies.

Genoa Bay Cafe  our favourite waterfront dining destination.  This is one of the destinations for paddles in Voyageur Canoes with Gumboot Guiding Canoe Tours.  

Providence Farm : our favourite local volunteer opportunity and wonderful community!  We dedicate one day each week to the farm and help in the garden, in the kitchen or where ever help is needed.  Providence is a very popular Wedding destination and we enjoy accommodating family and friends in the area for events at Providence.  

Merridale Cider Great local cidery and a fantastic destination for self guided tours, weddings and a fantastic bistro as well.  

Vigneti Zanata: a fantastic winery in Cowichan Valley. The true pioneers of Cowichan Wine Country. The best hospitality in a unique and scenic location.
